About Victoria
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Virginia and North Carolina and I have been working with individuals, couples, and families for 13 years. I received my Master’s of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Connecticut and my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Virginia Tech. I have provided therapy in various settings, including online therapy, private practice, community mental health, and hospital programs. I draw from various therapy models to help my client create changes, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic, systems theory, person centered, and experiential. I am working towards becoming a certified Mindfulness Meditation teacher and I am expecting to complete it in 2025.
I would like to share a few things about me as your therapist. I want us to create change together in a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment. Our goal will be to explore the various pieces of you and your life then we will increase your awareness of how things came to be and what you would like to change. I am going to ask you some tough questions and we are going to go to difficult spaces and I will be here, with you, the whole time. Then we are going to identify action items you can do to make the changes you desire and spend time feeling the feelings. Very brave individuals come to therapy to explore and face things within themselves, let’s go there together.
A little about who I am. I grew up in the Northern Virginia area outside of Washington, DC and enjoy being out in nature, especially some time at the ocean. My favorite ritual is having a coffee or latte in the morning while getting the little one ready for school. I engage in meditation and high intensity interval training at my local gym.
