Frequently asked questions.

How do we meet and how often?

We will meet on a schedule that we discuss and agree upon together. Typically, I suggest meeting weekly to get to know one another to start then made decisions from there. All of our sessions will be over a secure version of Zoom, which gives you the flexibility and comfort to sit in a space that you can engage our confidential conversations. Sessions are usually scheduled for 55-60 minutes in length, however, we can meet for a longer period of time if we agree it would be appropriate.

Do you accept insurance?

The short answer is that I do not bill insurance companies directly. I am considered an out of network provider with insurance companies, which means I do not currently participate with any plans as an in network provider.

Can I use my insurance for therapy?

Yes you can! Some insurance companies provide partial or full reimbursement for providers that are considered out of network. I will provide you with a document called a super bill at the end of each session that you can submit for possible reimbursement.

How long will I be in therapy?

This is a difficult question due to the various concerns and needs clients bring to therapy. Generally speaking, I have found my clients who engage in therapy have been highly motivated and able to identify clear goals so their average time in treatment is between 6 and 9 months if meeting weekly. Some clients choose to be in therapy for a longer period of time and meet less often to give them an opportunity to put their changes into practice.
